Born in 1985 in Moscow. In 2008 he began studying at the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK)

Debuted as a film director in 2009 with the film "Another Earth". Nominee of the National Award in the field of cinematography “Golden eagle” for 2009 in the nomination "Best Non-Fiction Film". In 2010, the film took part in the 34th Moscow International Film Festival.

In 2014, he began filming the film "24 Snows", a story about a horse breeder who spends most of the year in the tundra, looking after the herd. Every day of his life is a fight for survival. The production of the film lasted more than two years.

in 2016, at the 38th Moscow International Film Festival, this film received the Audience Award, took part in the special program of the Berlinale 2016 Film Festival, and received prizes at many prestigious film festivals. 

Since 2013 - film director on television and in private productions

For nine years of work Mikhail made several dozen films. Among them there is a documentary film “John Dugan. Escape from the USA" about an American ex-policeman who discovered corrupt links in the security forces and was forced to flee to Russia. "Afghan Dragon" is a film about a young Afghan guy, who incredibly resembles to the legendary Bruce Lee. The film has recorded about 7 million views on the youtube platform. "The Curse of the Boers" is about a clash between whites and Africans in South Africa. 

At the heart of any successful documentary project lies a story: a protagonist with an interesting destiny, entangled in an unknown collision, widely unknown to the public. The ability to discover and unravel such stories is the main skill of a good documentary filmmaker.
